2016 STEM Summer Camp Highlight Reel
STEM Summer Camp programs provide opportunities for students to further their education beyond the classroom. Students learn real skills that can be directly applied in the future, to STEM careers and education. The 2016 STEM Summer Camp programs were: Arduino Camp, Small UAS (Drone) Camp, Cyber Camp 2.0, LEGO® Robotics Camp, Engineering Camp, and for the first time, a Central Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired STEM Camp was offered.
2016 AFRL Challenge Competition
In April 2016, eight area high schools participated in the 8th Annual Challenge Competition, hosted by the Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate (AFRL/RI) and Griffiss Institute. The Challenge Competition is an annual competitive STEM initiative for local high school students. It's intent is to provide a more realistic view into the types of high tech problems the nation is facing today, and how engineers and researchers go about dissecting and solving these problems. The best explanation to describe the competition is “mental marathon”. This year’s challenge was developed by the Information Exploitation & Operations Division of ARFL/RI.
