Heather Hage, president and CEO of the Griffiss Institute in Rome, leads a complex, tech-savvy organization to help develop technologies for the Department of Defense, adapt new technologies to commercial applications, and to keep the former Griffiss Air Force Base as a center for high-tech research.

Each summer, the Institute’s employment swells as college professors and interns arrive in Rome to do research in fields like physics, computer science, math, and related specialties.
