Under Heather’s leadership since 2021:
- STEM education programs reached over 1 million students nationwide, doubling local participation to 723 students in the Mohawk Valley.
- Through GI’s partnership with the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), over 1,300 college students participated in summer internships and academies.
- Nearly 40% of AFRL’s new hires in Rome, NY, over the past two years came from GI’s internship programs, a testament to her commitment to building a pipeline of next-generation innovators.
- GI’s HUSTLE Defense Accelerator welcomed 20 new startups and three Innovare residents: all focused on advancing mission-critical technologies.
- Strategic partnerships expanded with academic institutions and defense organizations to ensure alignment with Department of Defense priorities, reinforcing Griffiss Institute’s role as a trusted convener for innovation, talent development, and technology transition.
