Fueling the Future of Innovation Through Philanthropy

NYSTEC’s contribution supports transportation for students participating in summer internship programs

Rome, NY — June 25, 2025  Griffiss Institute is pleased to announce a $27,000 philanthropic gift from NYSTEC toaddress a critical need for 2025 summer internship programs and transportation support for visiting student interns. The contribution will help college students travel safely from their summer residences in the Mohawk Valley to their intern jobs in Rome, NY, where they will engage in researchat the Innovare Advancement Center (IAC) and the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL).

“Access to talent requires removing real-world obstacles, and in this case, the need was simple and immediate, getting students here,” said Seth Mulligan, COO of Griffiss Institute. “NYSTEC’s timely gift allows us to meet that need head-on and ensures that students can fully participate in research that supports emerging technologies and national defense priorities.”

The internships, led by Dr. Timothy Kroecker at the Air Force Research Laboratory, include students from institutions nationwide and provides applied learning opportunities alongside subject-matter experts.
