Four Wheels and a Big Idea Local Business Owner Donates Trailer to Drive Griffiss Institute’s STEM Programs Forward

Griffiss Institute (GI) is rolling full speed ahead with delivering STEM programming directly to kids, thanks to a generous gift from Jeff Moyer, owner of Trailer Marketing Services. Moyer has donated a trailer that will support GI’s growing STEM education initiatives. More than just four wheels and space, it’s a launchpad helping local students shoot for the stars.

The new trailer will be deployed through GI’s STEM Initiative, a mobile program that delivers hands-on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics experiences directly to schools. This past summer, the STEM Circuit traveled across the region, bringing tools, materials, and excitement designed to spark curiosity in the next generation of innovators.

“Expanding access to STEM education truly requires broad community support. Jeff’s generous donation plays a vital role in breaking down barriers to accessibility, enabling delivery of hands-on STEM experiences directly to students, igniting curiosity, and equipping them with critical skills needed for future success,” said Jennifer Marshall, director of strategic program pursuits & launches at Griffiss Institute.

For Moyer, the decision came from firsthand experience. After watching his son thrive during one of GI’s STEM camps, he saw the impact these programs could have and wanted to ensure more students had access.

“STEM camp lit a fire in my son,” said Moyer. “When I saw that excitement, I knew I wanted to help GI bring that same opportunity to as many kids as possible. Donating a trailer felt like the right way to keep them moving, literally.”

With this donation, GI staff can expand their mobile footprint, making it easier to pack up, hit the road, and deliver engaging STEM programming directly to schools and communities.

“Jeff’s gift is more than just wheels and space, it’s fuel for imagination,” said Makenzi Enos, STEM senior program analyst. “Thanks to this donation, our STEM Circuit will continue to reach further, inspiring students across the Mohawk Valley and beyond to dream big and aim high.”

At Griffiss Institute, community is the engine that keeps us moving. Parents, educators, business owners, and neighbors all help fuel our mission. Together, we’re not just teaching science and technology, we’re building pathways, sparking imagination, and preparing tomorrow’s innovators right here at home.

The spirit of generosity was on full display during #MVGIVES on September 19, as the Mohawk Valley came together in support of local causes. Jeff’s contribution underscored how community investment propels STEM initiatives forward. With the trailer donation, the Griffiss Institute can now transport STEM materials to off-site events and camps, expanding access to hands-on learning opportunities.
