Angelique Patterson with Captain Augustus Moore

Angelique Patterson has been recognized for her outstanding academic achievements at the University of West Florida (UWF), receiving the prestigious Usha Kunda, MD College of Health award.  This accolade, presented to a student demonstrating exceptional promise in the health field, highlights Patterson’s dedication and hard work throughout her undergraduate studies.

Patterson’s commitment to excellence extended beyond the receipt of the Usha Kunda, MD College of Health award. She also earned a place on both the Dean’s List and the President’s List, distinctions reserved for students maintaining exceptionally high grade point averages.  These achievements reflect not only her intelligence and academic aptitude, but also her consistent dedication to her studies.

The Usha Kunda, MD College of Health award is a significant honor, recognizing students who embody compassion, service, and academic excellence within the health professions.  For Angelique Patterson, this award is a testament not only to her potential but also to her demonstrated commitment to these values.  The award committee highlighted Patterson’s dedication to service and her potential for meaningful contributions to the field by specifically recognizing both her summer work as a LEGACY intern under the mentorship of Captain Augustus Moore on Eglin Air Force Base and her current thesis, which focuses on her experiences with the men’s clinical group on base.

Driven by her passion for helping others, Patterson plans to continue her education by pursuing a master’s degree in social work. This next step will allow her to further develop the skills and knowledge necessary to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals and communities.  Her dedication to social work reflects a deep commitment to improving the well-being of others and addressing critical social issues. Her career goal is to work on base as a clinical social worker to help improve the lives of our U.S. airmen.

Patterson’s achievements at UWF are a testament to her hard work, dedication, and passion for making a difference.  The Usha Kunda, MD College of Health award, along with her placement on both the Dean’s List and President’s List, highlight her potential for future success in the field of social work.  As she embarks on her graduate studies, she carries with her the strong foundation built at UWF and the promise of a bright future dedicated to service and positive change.
