AFRL Small Business Landscape and Matchmaking Expo Set for November 6 at Griffiss Institute
ROME, NY — The Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate (AFRL/RI), together with Griffiss Institute, NYSTEC, North Country Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) and Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS), announce a special small business event, AFRL Small Business Landscape & Matchmaking Expo, on Wednesday, Nov 6, 2019, 7:45 am – 4:30 pm, at Griffiss Institute, 725 Daedalian Drive, Rome, NY.
This event will focus on educating small businesses on the new and multiple ways in which they can engage with the Department of Defense (DoD). The morning session will consist of a variety of speakers from DoD agencies and local small business support organizations in the "Small Business Obstacles and doing Business with Federal Government" program. Following, there will be a panel of small business leaders and government small business experts answering questions on their experience and knowledge engaging with the DoD. Finally, a matchmaking session with over 20 businesses and organizations will provide small businesses with the means to engage in these exciting opportunities.
The Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate’s goal is to maximize opportunities for all small businesses.
“The Central New York and Mohawk Valley regions are truly on the cusp of a technology business revolution,” says Brian Abbe, Principal Engineer at Griffiss Institute. “We wanted to hold an event that could provide information and support to those who want to get in on ground floor of this revolution,” he continued. “We have brought together all of the right organizations to help small businesses be successful within the changing DoD landscape, and business, in general.”
